Crouch expecting Pompey survival

Portsmouth striker Peter Crouch is confident his side have the quality to avoid relegation from the Premier League this season. Pompey were booed off at the end of Saturday's 2-2 home draw with bottom club West Brom - a result which left the club four points clear of the relegation zone. Crouch accepts it was a missed chance to claim three vital points, but is remaining upbeat about the club's prospects of survival. "West Brom was a missed opportunity to put a bit of distance between ourselves and the bottom three, but we've still gone up two places, which is a bonus," said Crouch. "We're disappointed because we expect to win our home games, but we've not lost and we've gained a couple of places, so we can't be too down about it. "Since the new manager's come in, though, we've proven we're a lot harder to beat and despite the disappointment we still haven't lost. "If we go on like we are at the moment, we'll have no problems. "We've got a game in hand on the other clubs but it's against Manchester United, so it's going to be difficult. But we've enough good players and enough quality to get ourselves out of the situation we're in." The England striker added: "We've got arguably the best squad of all the teams down there. "We've got a lot of internationals, but we've realised we're in a dogfight and we need to fight. "We all know we certainly have enough quality to stay up. But we have to dig in and get results like we did against West Brom."
