Portsmouth boss Steve Cotterill has revealed he will send some of his youngsters out on loan to other Football League clubs this season.[LNB] Pompey have decided not to compete in a reserve league next season and will instead play selected behind-closed-doors friendlies against other clubs.[LNB]Cotterill says the younger players who are not yet ready for first team action, will gain more experience on loan with another club than they would have got in competitive reserve football.[LNB]He told the club's official website: "I think our squad will decrease in numbers compared to last year and I felt that we should pull out of the reserve league for a season and instead focus fully on a first-team squad.[LNB]"Instead of being in a reserve league we'll arrange behind-closed doors games as many of the top clubs are doing.[LNB]"A lot of young players here need to get out on loan and get some Football League experience. That's going to benefit them far more than reserve-team football."
