Cotterill welcomes Hreidarsson return

Portsmouth manager Steve Cotterill has hailed the return of defender Hermann Hreidarsson. The Iceland international's comeback after seven months out injured was unsurprisingly overshadowed by events off the field over the weekend. But Hreidarsson came on as a late substitute during Saturday's 2-1 win at Hull and will provide a huge boost to Pompey's threadbare squad over the rest of the season. "It's great that Hermann's finally got back on the pitch because he has worked his socks off," said Cotterill. "I'm really pleased for him."
