Cotterill: We didn't turn up

Portsmouth boss Steve Cotterill had no complaints about the result after watching his side slip to a 1-0 defeat at Preston. Paul Hayes scored the only goal of the game to leave Pompey waiting for their first league win since relegation from the Premier League. "We didn't really turn up in any part of the game," said Cotterill. "I thought that was probably our weakest 90 minutes. At least in the other games we had a bit of dominance for a while. But not in this game. "It wasn't a game that we deserved to get anything from if I am honest. But we don't have many bodies at the moment and I hope that is not a situation which continues for a while. "The playing squad I have at the moment is very lopsided. I have an abundance of central midfielders, I have no defenders, a lack of wide players and a lack of a centre forward. It is hard to address all of those areas, so you are just plugging holes."
