Cotterill rues Pompey injuries
Steve Cotterill was left frustrated by the build-up of injuries after seeing his side lift the Edmonton Cup on penalties against FC Edmonton.[LNB] Nadir Ciftci cancelled out Chris Lemire's opener to force the shoot-out which Pompey won 5-4, but the result was tainted by injuries to Jon Stewart and Tom Kilbey.[LNB]Goalkeeper Stewart has a suspected broken leg following a collision with team-mate Joel Ward while Kilbey damaged his knee. Matt Ritchie, Michael Brown and Stephen Jordan also picked up knocks to leave Cotterill thin on numbers ahead of Saturday's clash against DC United.[LNB]"It may not mean anything to people back home but it's an achievement I suppose, particularly with the way we won it," Cotterill told the club's official website. "But it was a costly game with a few more injuries. Jon Stewart may have a fracture, which is a blow for the kid who is with us on trial. He's going to be in a cast and on crutches.[LNB]"Tom Kilbey's struggling. He took a whack on his knee. Steve Jordan came off with a sore calf. Michael Brown tweaked his knee in the first half. Matt Ritchie played on in the second half when he shouldn't have played but we had no more subs.[LNB]"We're down to 11 now if we're lucky. We may have Tommy Smith and Jamie Ashdown available but we're still struggling for a team on Saturday."
