Midfielder Tom Kilbey will be released by Portsmouth when his contract expires at the end of the season. The 20-year-old, signed from Millwall in October 2007, is currently on loan at Lincoln until the end of the campaign, and boss Steve Cotterill is hopeful Kilbey can earn himself a new club with his for the League Two side. "I have spoken to Tom to say there isn't going to be an extension to his contract here, so he has needed to go out and start playing," Cotterill told The News. "We had to weigh up how many times Tom is going to get out on the pitch between now and the end of the season when he can go and play 90 minutes if selected at Lincoln. "I can keep him here and be really selfish, but what is the difference between having six subs or seven subs? "Tom is not going to stay here. Hopefully he can carve out a living for himself in the game somewhere because he is a real nice lad. I really like him."
