Cotterill retains Pompey belief

Portsmouth manager Steve Cotterill is confident his side will get back to winning ways sooner rather than later. Pompey host Derby on Saturday on the back of an eight-match winless streak which leaves them just two places and four points above the relegation zone. But Cotterill saw enough in Tuesday night's 2-0 defeat at leaders QPR, in which goalkeeper Jamie Ashdown gifted Adel Taarabt the opener, to suggest results will turn. "I've told Jamie to keep his head up. There wasn't a lot he could do because the ball zipped up off the turf and ended up in the back of the net," said Cotterill. "But we go again and train ready for Saturday's game against Derby. It can't come quickly enough. The wins will come if we carry on playing like that."
