Cotterill ready to down Swansea

Portsmouth manager Steve Cotterill wants to end a tough month on a high with victory at Swansea on Friday night. Pompey's recent revival has hit the buffers during November after they picked up just one point from games against Derby, QPR, Doncaster and Barnsley.

Cotterill is expecting no favours from the high-flying Swans but is confident his side can pick up a positive result and improve their away form which has seen them score just six times on the road this season.

"They pass the ball around and are a pacy team who get a lot of possession - especially at home," he said.

"I think it's going to be a difficult game.

"The margins between success and failure this month have been very narrow.

"Away goals haven't been as easy to come by as they have at Fratton Park. We have got clever enough players that when we are at home and teams sit behind the ball, we can open them up. But what we have to do when we're away is try to get a little bit more of a foothold in the game."
