Cotterill praises duo's attitude

Manager Steve Cotterill is pleased with the attitude trialists Stephen Jordan and Jamie Ashdown have shown since joining Portsmouth`s pre-season tour of America. Jordan played in Pompey's 2-1 defeat to Club America while Ashdown is yet to appear in a game as he recovers from a knee injury. However, the former Reading goalkeeper has been able to train and could start against DC United in the final game of the tour in Washington on July 24. "All credit to Stephen," Cotterill told the club`s official website. "I phoned him last Sunday afternoon and asked him if he fancied coming on the tour and he was at the airport to meet us the following morning. That showed what type of character he is. "Jamie Ashdown is back with us doing rehabilitation after a knee injury. Me, Jamie and John Keeley, our goalkeeping coach, had a chat and have tailored a programme for him. "He is coming on well so touch wood if everything goes well for him he could be available for the DC United game."
