Cotterill on Pompey's wanted list

Portsmouth administrator Andrew Andronikou has revealed Notts County manager Steve Cotterill is in the frame to take over the debt-ridden club.[LNB] Cotterill led the Magpies to promotion to League One after losing just one game in 18 and, because he was only on a short-term deal at Meadow Lane, has been linked with a host of vacant managerial jobs.[LNB]Andronikou believes Cotterill's accomplishments, which have included four promotions, could lift the disillusioned Pompey players following their relegation from the Premier League.[LNB]"He (Cotterill) is one of eight or nine managers that have been recommended to us. He was recommended by a third party," Andronikou told the Nottingham Evening Post.[LNB]"His CV precedes him. He is the sort of motivator that our players need to take them forward.[LNB]"The fact he is out of contract at the end of the month is not a factor. We are looking for the right individual, not at their availability."[LNB]
