Cotterill keeps fingers crossed over Kanu

Portsmouth manager Steve Cotterill remains hopeful Kanu will sign a new contract at Fratton Park. The veteran Nigerian striker travelled to Coventry at the weekend but was unable to feature in Pompey's 2-0 defeat as he has yet to re-sign for the club. But talks are ongoing and Cotterill could have the former Arsenal frontman available for Saturday's clash with Reading. Cotterill said: "He'd like to be playing for us and I would like him here. We could have done with Kanu's influence. He could have caused Coventry a few more problems."
