Cotterill issues Pompey warning

Portsmouth boss Steve Cotterill has warned he will not be able to rely on the club's youngsters all season. Cotterill has been hugely impressed with the likes of Nadir Ciftci, Matt Ritchie and Joel Ward, all of whom have been thrust into the first team due to a lack of senior players at Fratton Park. Ciftci, 18, has already found the net twice this term but Cotterill is keen not to put too much pressure on young shoulders. "They have done great so far but we mustn't get carried away with any of the youngsters because at any given moment they could hit a brick wall," said Cotterill. "Their muscles haven't hardened yet but they are doing really well."
