Cotterill frustrated by lack of signings

Portsmouth boss Steve Cotterill has admitted his frustration in trying to add to his threadbare squad. With Pompey still under a transfer embargo, Cotterill is only allowed to bring in loan signings. He has managed to land Stoke duo Ibrahima Sonko and Carl Dickinson on season-long loans but failed in his attempt to bring Anthony Vanden Borre back to Fratton Park. "A lot of the good players have already gone," said Cotterill. "We need better than what we've got and that's what I'm looking for. We're still working at it every day but I don't want players who are good enough for every day of the week except Saturday. "We have to be fussy because otherwise we'll waste another load of money. We had a lot of players here who could never play in the first team. "I want quality not quantity and I'm hoping that will be the case by the time we reach the end of August. That's the job at the moment and it's not an easy one."
