Cotterill eyes top-six place

Portsmouth boss Steve Cotterill believes his side are in with a chance of making the play-offs after they came from behind to record their first win in five npower Championship matches with a 2-1 success at Swansea on Friday night. Greg Halford ghosted into the Swansea penalty area unmarked in the 65th minute to head home the winner after David Nugent's equaliser had cancelled out Craig Beattie's second-minute opener. The win lifted Pompey up to 12th, two points off the top six. Cotterill said: "The result shows maybe we can get into the top six but we are light on numbers. We hope to bring in players in January but we will have to wait and see. "We are going in the right direction. It's taken a lot of hard work behind the scenes."
