Campbell hoping to carry on playing
Veteran Portsmouth skipper Sol Campbell insists that he can continue to play at the highest level for another three years.The 35-year-old has appeared to be back to his best in the second half of the season as he looks to lead the club to safety.The former England international has made 36 appearances for Pompey this season in all competitions and as the season draws to a close the defender is showing no signs of slowing down.Now under the tutelage of Paul Hart the South Coast club have moved six points clear of the drop zone with a crunch clash at fellow strugglers Newcastle awaiting them on Monday."I would play for another 10 years if I could - but maybe in three years I'll think about retirement," he told the Daily Star."Before that I just want to continue playing good quality football at a top level. Then who knows?"We'll have to wait and see. Perhaps I'll stay in football in another capacity."For the time being Campbell is focusing on the present and he knows that three points at St James' Park would go a long way to securing their Premier League status for another season."We're not out of the woods at all - although we are creating chances in games and look like scoring."[LNB]
