Boss Keane tries to lure Portsmouth's No 2 Kidd to join him at Ipswich

Roy Keane has lined up Brian Kidd to be his assistant boss at Ipswich Town. Portsmouth's interim manager Paul Hart and Kidd are likely to be offered permanent roles at Fratton Park after the way they guided the club away from the relegation zone. But Sir Alex Ferguson's former right-hand man may be tempted to join his former Manchester United colleague at Portman Road. Keane has appointed Tony Loughlin, who he worked with at Sunderland, as his first-team coach at Ipswich. The ex-Republic of Ireland captain tried to bring Kidd to the Stadium of Light but he opted to go to Sheffield United instead. With Portsmouth's financial situation uncertain Kidd may feel a switch to Ipswich would offer him more security.
