Bordeaux ponder move for Utaka

Bordeaux chairman Jean-Louis Triaud claims the Ligue 1 club have been offered the chance to sign forward John Utaka from Portsmouth.The Nigeria international has struggled to make an impact on the South Coast since leaving Rennes in 2007 and has scored only five goals in 43 games.Pompey now appear prepared to let the 27-year-old, who cost £7million, leave - and Bordeaux boss Laurent Blanc is considering his options.The French club's chairman Triaud told Aujourd'hui: "We have been offered John Utaka."I told coach Laurent Blanc, but I am not managing the sport aspect. I passed the information on, but it is up to the coach to make his decision."No decision has been made yet. I know Utaka wants to come back to France."[LNB]
