Bordeaux consider Utaka

Bordeaux claim they have been offered the opportunity to sign Portsmouth forward John Utaka.[LNB] The Nigeria international has struggled to make an impact on the South Coast since leaving Stade Rennais in 2007 and has scored only five goals in 43 games.[LNB]Pompey now appear prepared to let the 27-year-old, who cost £7million, leave Fratton Park and Bordeaux boss Laurent Blanc is considering his options.[LNB]The French club's chairman Jean-Louis Triaud told Aujourd'hui: "We have been offered John Utaka.[LNB]"I told coach Laurent Blanc, but I am not managing the sport aspect. I passed the information on, but it is up to the coach to make his decision. [LNB]"No decision has been made yet. I know Utaka wants to come back to France."[LNB]
