Boateng wrangle for Pompey

Kevin-Prince Boateng is in a stand-off with Portsmouth over his future club after setting his sights on joining Genoa in Italy's Serie A. The Ghana midfielder, who enhanced his reputation in the World Cup, wants to sign for Genoa but Lazio are offering Portsmouth significantly more money, according to the club's administrator. Stoke, Everton, Rangers and West Ham have also been linked with the 23-year-old but it looks as though he will be heading to Italy. Portsmouth's administrator Andrew Andronikou told Press Association Sport: "I'm discussing with Kevin his position and he will be leaving the club - but it's just a matter of time and how much we get for him. "His representatives are trying to put pressure on us to accept far less money than he is worth. "He wants to go to Genoa but we have a much higher offer from Lazio and we are trying to bridge the two and the sooner we can move it on the better."
