Highly-rated teenager Andre Blackman has joined Bristol City on a two-year contract from Portsmouth. Blackman, 18, is a versatile performer who predominantly plays at left-back but can also operate on the wing. He has spent time with Arsenal and Tottenham during his youth and is now looking forward to making an impact at Ashton Gate. Blackman believes he is good enough to play an important part in Gary Johnson's plans during the forthcoming Championship campaign. "This is a very big move for me. I've not played a first-team game yet and for the gaffer to sign me and give me the chance to show what I can do is great," Blackman, who is currently recovering from an ankle injury, told the club's official website. "I want to express myself and show that I can be ready for first-team football. It's a big move in general. "I'm working every day with the medical team and the aim is to be fit near the end of July."
