Manchester City striker Benjani Mwaruwari has revealed he would relish the chance to return to Portsmouth. The 30-year-old Zimbabwe international has struggled to make an impact at City since leaving Fratton Park in February last year and recent reports have linked him with a move to Stoke. However, Benjani has suggested that he may prefer to return to the South Coast if City decide to sell him. "I have good memories and I have a special relationship with the Portsmouth supporters," he said in The News. "I left on a good note and I have nothing but good feelings about them, that's for sure. "I'd love to play for them again, but at the moment I'm contracted to Manchester City. "I have a job to do here until I'm told anything else. "There is a lot of talk about my future, but at the moment I'm still a Manchester City player. "Obviously there is always speculation in football, though. I am happy to stay unless the club declare they do not want me anymore. "In football, you never know what is around the corner." He added: "It's been okay for me at Manchester City. "The problem I've had is the injuries I had last season, but everything is okay now. I'm ready to play and I need to play. "I'm training with the squad and we are about to fly out to Germany. "I have a contract at the moment and I just want to play football."
