Basinas unhappy with Pompey

Portsmouth midfielder Angelos Basinas is set to seek an exit from Fratton Park in the near future due to a lack of first-team opportunities.

The 33-year-old Greece international arrived in England in January, but has since made just six appearances for Pompey - with his two starts this season coming in the Carling Cup.

A disgruntled Basinas told The news: "I've never been interested in time to adapt.

"I don't want special treatment. My only goal was to come to the best league in the world and achieve success.

"Unfortunately, it seems the coach and I are not of the same mindset.

"He has ignored my ability for eight games in the Premier League season, as well as my continuing commitment in training. I can no longer accept this.

"If the situation continues I can see no other way of resolving the situation than to agree a dissolution of our arrangement in January."
