Portsmouth have completed the loan signing of Milan Baros from Lyon.
The 26-year-old Czech Republic frontman has fallen out of favour at the French champions this season and has agreed to join Pompey on loan until the end of the season.
The former Liverpool and Aston Villa striker scored 41 times during 159 appearances in England before moving to France 12 months ago.
Pompey boss Harry Redknapp moved to bolster his attacking options after losing Nwankwo Kanu and John Utaka to the Africa Cup of Nations.
Baros could now make his debut in Wednesday's Premier League trip to Manchester United.
"It's a terrific opportunity to have a look at him," Redknapp told the club's official website.
"It's a loan deal until the end of the season and then we'll see how it goes from there.
"He's a good player who's been at Liverpool and Aston Villa and he's been the Golden Boot winner at the European Championship.
"He's got pace and makes good runs."
