Ballack blasts Boateng over challenge

Michael Ballack accused Kevin-Prince Boateng of purposely trying to hurt him after a clash which left the German ace a doubt for the World Cup.[LNB] Ballack had to leave Chelsea's 1-0 FA Cup final victory over Portsmouth at Wembley on Saturday just before half-time following a reckless challenge from Boateng.[LNB]Boateng, who missed a second-half penalty, was shown a yellow card by referee Chris Foy, but Ballack was adamant the Pompey player meant to harm him.[LNB]"I am more worried about my injury now," said Ballack, who left Wembley with his right foot in a protective boot.[LNB]"I have seen it on TV and to say it was not on purpose means you have to be a friend of Boateng.[LNB]"Boateng was lucky to get away with a yellow but it is football and if the referee controls the game and decides it is no red card you have to accept it.[LNB]"I can walk on it, not quite comfortable but I can walk, which is not the worst thing. I don't think there is a break.[LNB]"We will have to wait until tomorrow to have a scan, then we'll know more. Hopefully it won't stop me playing in the World Cup.[LNB]"I couldn't carry on but I hope it's not too bad. Injuries are not good but there is a little time to go yet until the World Cup."[LNB]Ballack was still delighted to be part of a Chelsea side which lifted the League and FA Cup double for the first time in the club's history.[LNB]"It's great," he said. "It's the first time in Chelsea's history so everybody is so happy about what we have achieved in the last week.[LNB]"We have won two titles and we have put in a lot of effort.[LNB]"Carlo (Ancelotti) is the coach and he has the responsibility for everything. He prepares for games well and gets us training every day.[LNB]"It's like the team is his handwriting now. We have scored lots of goals and he's a great manager. The fans love him, and rightly so if you win two titles in your first season."[LNB]However, Ballack still does not know if he will be a Chelsea player next season. His contract expires in the summer and the club seem reluctant to offer him the new two-year deal he craves.[LNB]"I don't know what will happen," Ballack said. "I will go and talk to Chelsea but at the same time I have to think about the World Cup."
