Portsmouth goalkeeper Jamie Ashdown has agreed a new two-and-a-half year contract which will keep him at the Fratton Park club until summer 2010.
Ashdown, 26, is number two to David James at Pompey and spent a month on loan at Norwich City earlier in the season.
The former Reading trainee has yet to make a first-team appearance for the south coast club this season after breaking a finger at the start of the campaign.
"I'm delighted. It's great for me because it's not been the best year of my career," he told the club's official website.
"I've impressed the coaching staff and the manager in training and I've been rewarded with a new contract.
"Whatever happens, happens. Just to play again would be fantastic. I'm always working hard, so when my chance comes, hopefully I'll be ready."
