Sulaiman Al-Fahim has reassured Portsmouth's fans that the club's takeover remains firmly on track. Fears have escalated recently as Al-Fahim's proposed takeover is yet to be completed despite having had several weeks to finalise the deal. It had been speculated the takeover is on the verge of falling through after Al-Fahim missed owner Alexandre Gaydamak's seven-day deadline to complete the transaction. Fans fear the club could even be placed into administration is order to tackle their debt mountain, however, all remains calm in Al-Fahim's camp, with the businessman attending Saturday's Premier League opener against Fulham. "The takeover is still on course, and in fact has never strayed off course," said spokesman Ivo Ilic. Statement of intent"That is why he was there and I think the white coat was a statement of intent." Manager Paul Hart, who saw his side lose 1-0 to Fulham at the weekend, is trying to reassure his players, but concedes he knows little more than most. The on-going situation has become so farcical Hart has likened their situation to Fawlty Towers. "I treat the players with respect and try to keep them informed of what's going on," explained Hart. "Of course, the players want to know what is happening. They ask questions and I try to give them answers. "But I can only give answers to the questions I know the answers to... it's all getting a bit like Fawlty Towers."
