Al Fahim warns against Hart bets

New chairman Sulaiman Al Fahim has told punters not to waste their money on Portsmouth boss Paul Hart winning the sack race. Hart has been installed as the bookies' favourite to be the Premier League's first managerial casualty of the 2009-10 season. Pompey have made their worst start for 56 years and the arrival of a new owner at the helm has convinced many Hart is facing the axe. But Al Fahim's spokesman, Ivo Ilic Gabara, insists the new Pompey chief has no intention of showing Hart the door. "Paul Hart has got the full backing of the chairman and he has gone on record as having said so," said Gabara. "Do not put any money on him being dismissed, that will be money misplaced. "The one thing I am confident in is he will not lose his job, I am certain of that. "The chairman appreciates Paul Hart, he appreciates everything he did during difficult and uncertain times this summer. "He respects him as a great professional who he would like to stay on in his current role. "The chairman has been impressed with the work he has done and the way he has managed the club during this transitional period. "It is not his plan to dismiss him. He wants him to stay with the club." Al Fahim sat amongst the Pompey fans for their 1-0 defeat at home to Manchester City last time out but will not be present for Saturday's clash with Bolton. The property tycoon currently has business commitments in America, although he is expected to be back for the televised clash with Everton at Fratton Park on 26th September. "Sulaiman will not be back in time, he has other business interests," Gabara added. "As you can imagine, he devoted an extraordinary amount of his time towards the takeover and now needs to catch up with his other business interests elsewhere in the world. "Of course he wants to be there and follow the club - and will be attending most of the games. "But he is presently in a different part of the world so unfortunately that is not possible this weekend."
