Al Fahim primed for Pompey bid

Sulaiman Al Fahim is attempting to negotiate a price for Portsmouth after due diligence was completed. The property tycoon has now evaluated Pompey's assets and is well-placed to negotiate with owner Sacha Gaydamak for the Fratton Park outfit. Al Fahim's spokesman Ivo Ilic Gabara says there are no guarantees a deal will be concluded this month, news that will dismay fans who are still anxious to have a new manager at the helm. While Gabara cannot disclose when a deal will be concluded, he has stressed both parties are looking to finalise the transaction as soon as possible. "Due diligence has been completed," Gabara told The News. "We are now making a final commercial assessment with information obtained through the due diligence process. "We will then sit down and negotiate a final price based on how much both parties think the club is worth. "We have never said the entire deal would be completed in July. We said all along we expected due diligence to be completed in such a time frame - now that has happened. "I cannot possibly say when a final fee will be agreed. The deal is not closed until it is closed, like any financial transaction. "But both parties want it completed as soon as possible to proceed in a good manner."
