Adams seeks further arrivals

Portsmouth manager Tony Adams is confident that he will have several more new players at his disposal in the very near future. Pompey sealed a loan deal for Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant on Tuesday, with Adams hopeful of further deals being completed in the next few days. He told The News: "We could have a few new recruits before the weekend. "There are areas of concern, that is obvious from the amount of centre-backs we are playing in midfield at the moment. That's an area that needs reinforcing. "There are a lot of players out there I would love to have, too. The practicality, the finance and the availability I'm not so sure about. "I'm not panicking, though. A lot of work has been done and there are players on the list. (Executive chairman) Peter Storrie is working towards those players. "If any others come up I won't touch them. I've looked at over 100 players since December and I've got the ones I want. My work is done really. "Now it's down to whether we can get the right deal for these guys."
