Adams retains support
02 Feb 2009 - 12:47:28
Portsmouth defender Sylvain Distin claims under-pressure manager Tony Adams retains the support of the players.
Adams' brief reign was brought into fresh doubt following Saturday's 3-1 defeat to Fulham.
Harry Redknapp's former number two has won just four of his 21 games since taking the managerial reins in October, but Distin claims the rookie boss continues to have the full support of his players.
"Of course there is support for the manager," he told the Portsmouth News. "It's a question to write in the newspapers, it's not a question for the players.
"The manager is there. Whether we like it or don't like it, we have to work with him. It was the same when Harry Redknapp left. Whether we like it or don't like we are paid to do a job.
"At no point in the dressing room has there been talking about being for or against the manager.
'He's there. We don't feel like we are against him. I don't know where it has come from."
