Adams relishes Pompey win
09 Nov 2008 - 08:48:27
Portsmouth's new manager Tony Adams was delighted to see his side pick up their first win under his charge, as they edged a 2-1 victory at Sunderland.
A late Jermain Defoe penalty proved decisive at the Stadium of Light, as Pompey ended a five-game run without a win.
Adams beamed afterwards: "Oh, I love winning, I love winning. I will take it any style, playing well, playing not badly, it doesn't matter to me.
"It is always a fantastic feeling for me. We are in a results industry, I understand that.
"We have had a good week on the training pitch and I have enjoyed that and we have got a good result.
"But of the four games that I have been in charge, it was probably the worst performance. Maybe I will go back to basics and start again in this game because I don't have a clue about it.
"Whatever the results, whatever happens, I am actually having a fantastic experience here.
"I am going to take it and say 'thank-you very much' and I will move on. It is a wonderful, wonderful learning curve.
"It is a tough division, but it's a great and a tough place to apply your trade. But I am doing the best I can and having a fantastic experience."
