Adams hails fit-again Kranjcar
10 Dec 2008 - 14:57:05
Portsmouth boss Tony Adams believes that Croatia playmaker Niko Kranjcar will be a key player for Pompey for the rest of the season.
The 24-year-old missed two months earlier in the campaign due to ankle ligament damage, but has returned in fine form in the last few weeks.
Adams told The News: "Niko is a great club man. He can play football and I need him in my team whether it's on the right, on the left or in behind the strikers.
"That's how I feel about him. He is a fantastic footballer and he was missed when he was out injured for the early part of the season.
"Now we have him back and as long as he's fit, he will play a big part in our season. I am a huge fan of his.
"We have plenty of talented players in this squad, which is great for me, and Niko is certainly one of them."
Kranjcar moved to Fratton Park in the summer of 2006 from Dinamo Zagreb and has scored eight goals in 79 appearances for the south coast club.
