Whitaker explains Vale exit

Former Port Vale midfielder Danny Whitaker has revealed that he would have stayed with the club had they avoided relegation to League Two.
The 27-year-old has opted to move on and join Oldham Athletic, with Vale's relegation a key factor in his decision.
He told The Sentinel: "I spent enough time in League Two when I was at Macclesfield, so the idea of going back there wasn't the best.
"There's a big difference between the two divisions because you get a lot more football at this level. League Two is rough and ready.
"It's nothing against Port Vale. In fact, I probably would have stayed if it wasn't for the fact we got relegated.
"You just want to play at the highest level you can, so once I had a chance to stay in League One, I was going to take it."
