Vale to seal Owen signing

Port Vale are expected to complete the signing of Gareth Owen before their match with Gillingham on Tuesday.

Vale have been trying to sign the defender throughout the transfer window having had Owen on loan at Vale Park earlier in the season.

However, County had recalled him but have since come to an agreement to release the 26-year-old from his contract by mutual consent.

Stockport's former skipper has already expressed his desire to join the League Two outfit and looks set to sign a two-and-a-half year deal with Dean Glover's team.
