Vale sign Seagulls midfielder

Port Vale have completed the signing of Doug Loft from Brighton & Hove Albion.

The 21-year-old has signed a two-year contract with the Valiants where he will link up with former manager Micky Adams.

Loft revealed that Adams was keen to bring his former player to Vale Park as soon as he made the move north.

"Micky phoned me as soon as he got the job," Loft told the club's official website. "I came up and had a look and I'm pleased to sign.

"I'm an attacking midfielder and hopefully I can score a few goals. I played in this division with Dagenham last season so I know what it's about."

Loft has made 16 starts for Brighton, as well as making 33 appearances as a substitute. He made ten appearances while on loan at Dagenham last term.
