Vale Park departure for Slater

19 November 2008 02:17
Port Vale defender Chris Slater has had his contract terminated by mutual consent. The 24-year-old was signed by former Vale boss Lee Sinnott from Chasetown in January and made 13 appearances for the club. However, since Sinnott left Vale Park earlier this season, Slater has been unable to force his way into Dean Glover's first-team plans and has spent the last month on loan at Chasetown. Meanwhile, midfielder Ross Davidson has lost his appeal against the red card he was handed in the defeat against Brentford and will have to serve a three-match ban.
