Port Vale have offered a short-term deal to midfielder Dave Brammer who has secured a release from Millwall.
Brammer has been on loan at Vale Park since October and Dean Glover is set to offer the 33-year-old the chance to stay at the club until the end of the season.
Any longer deal is initially unlikely due to financial constraints within Vale's infrastructure.
Glover told BBC Radio Stoke: "Now Dave has been released by Millwall I can try and entice him to stay here until the end of the season.
"I'll sit down with Dave and his agent and try and negotiate something."
The former Stoke City and Crewe Alexandra man has started four games for Port Vale this season.
