Vale lodge Talbot appeal

Port Vale have launched an appeal against Jason Talbot's dismissal in the 2-0 win against Millwall at Vale Park.

Talbot faces a lengthy ban after being sent off for the third time this season after tangling with Lions winger Ryan Smith.

Vale chairman Bill Bratt had blasted after the game: "The big centre-forward (Poul Hubertz) ran 30 yards to get in the melee and that's unforgivable as far as I'm concerned.

"I wouldn't expect our players to do what their players did. It's completely wrong.

"I feel sorry for Jason Talbot. He's getting a reputation and it's not all his fault."
