Vale land Chasetown duo

Port Vale boss Lee Sinnott has snapped up two players from the team that knocked his side out of the FA Cup - Chasetown.

Chris Slater and Kyle Perry have moved to Vale Park following Chasetown's exit from the FA Cup last weekend at the third round stage to Cardiff City.

Perry told the club's official website: "There were always going to be rumours after the FA Cup, but the first both of us heard about it was on Thursday, and it came as a bit of a shock.

"Coming here is a great opportunity for both of us and hopefully we can achieve something, work hard and go on from there.

"At the moment the deal is for 18 months. I'm a young lad and I've still got a lot to learn."

Slater added: "It's come as a big shock. We got knocked out of the Cup on Saturday and I thought it would be a few weeks before maybe I might get a trial or something might be put on the table for me.

"It's a great opportunity for us both to go on from here."
