Port Vale manager Lee Sinnott has snapped up Birmingham City youngster David Howland on loan as he attempts to lift his side out of the League One relegation zone.
The Northern Ireland Under-21 international, who has not yet featured in City's first team, has agreed a deal that will see him remain at Vale Park until the end of the season.
Howland told Vale's official website: "I've been playing in the reserves now for a while, so it's the next step and I hope I can do well in first-team football.
"Hopefully I can get in and make my mark. I played against the reserves last season and I could tell then they were a good club, and I'm really looking forward to it."
Meanwhile, Shane Tudor, Mark McGregor, Charlie O'Loughlin, Paul Edwards and Jason Talbot have all been told they are free to leave the club.
