Vale extend Togwell stay

Port Vale have extended the loan spell of 21-year-old Crystal Palace midfielder Sam Togwell until February.

The player has impressed Vale boss Martin Foyle during his initial first stint at Vale Park which expired last Monday, and the club were quick to set up a fresh deal to carry on for a further month.

The move is a good one for Vale, while Togwell is delighted at being given the chance to continue playing regular first-team football in his favoured central midfield role.

He told Palace's official club website: "I feel my game's improved a lot over the past few weeks.

"I would definitely recommend a loan spell to other young players trying to make their way in the game, because I've learned a lot.

"I recently had a chat with the manager and he gave me a run of games in centre midfield, where I feel most comfortable and can influence the play more. So I'm a lot happier now."
