Vale close in on new boss

Port Vale will unveil their new manager next week, according to chairman Bill Bratt.

The League One strugglers have been on the lookout for a new manager since parting company with Martin Foyle in September.

Caretaker Dean Glover is hopeful of being given the job on a full-time basis and Bratt has promised a final decision by next week.

"Progress has been made and a decision on a new manager will be made next week," he told the club's official website.

"In the meantime Dean Glover will be in charge for the game against Huddersfield this weekend."
