Vale chairman slams Sonner

Port Vale chairman Bill Bratt has hit out at Danny Sonner after the out-of-contract midfielder accused the club of paying 'Conference wages'.
Sonner is on the lookout for a new club after rejecting the offer of a new deal at Vale Park, but his comments have upset Bratt, who feels he made the 35-year-old a fair deal.
"To say we're stunned is an understatement," he told the club's official website.
"The manager had faith in Danny Sonner to pluck him from the depths of Peterborough reserves to give him two years at Port Vale and, at the age of 35, to offer him another contract with better terms for another season when most teams would have pensioned him off.
"Also, if we paid Conference wages, we'd not have kept hold of George Pilkington or attracted the likes of Marc Richards, Shane Tudor or Justin Miller to the Vale.
"If he thinks the money he's on is next to nothing he should try working in the pottery industry for a solid 40 hours a week for £200.
"I like Danny, he's a character, but he's completely out of order attacking the club that rescued his career."
