Port Vale have terminated the contract of striker Luke Rodgers by mutual consent.
Rodgers has been on loan at Yeovil Town since November and has been released from his Vale contract to free up space on the club's wage bill.
"Having Luke away at Yeovil helps me entice other players to the club," Vale boss Dean Glover told BBC Radio Stoke.
Rodgers joined Vale in January 2007 and went on to score 19 goals in 66 appearances for the Potteries club, following his arrival from Crewe Alexandra.
The 27-year-old started his career with Shrewsbury Town, where he netted 73 times in 205 outings in all competitions.
