Richards on the mend

Port Vale striker Marc Richards remains hopeful of being fully fit for the start of the campaign, after a groin problem disrupted his pre-season programme.
The 25-year-old faces stiff competition for places from the likes of Akpo Sodje and Luke Rodgers and admits that his summer struggles have set him back.
He told The Sentinel: "It's frustrating to come in and be injured in pre-season and I've not had as many games as I'd like.
"But I'm back doing some work with the physios and doing some running. It's just catch-up for me now.
"Obviously, Akpo and Luke have been doing tremendously well. They're both scoring goals, so they're probably favourites to start for the season.
"I want to start matches and I'll do everything I can to be the first choice."
