New Valiants deal for Anyon

Joe Anyon has signed a new 12-month deal with Port Vale even though the goalkeeper is still recovering from a broken leg.
The 22-year-old, who has made more than 100 appearances for the Valiants, suffered the injury three months ago and knows he will be struggling to recover in time for the start of the season in just over six weeks' time.
He said:"I've just got to keep going and keep working hard.
"I know I'm not going to be involved in many pre-season games, but my target is just to get fit and, come August 8th when the season starts, I've got to show the new manager what I'm capable of doing.
"I know Chris Martin and Danny Lloyd-Weston are going to have an edge towards the games, so I have to come back with a positive frame of mind and do well.
"I think this season is going to be a really tough season for me, mentally more than physically. I'll have to get over a lot of things. Next season will be a big year for me and a big test of character."
