Relegated Port Vale are likely to be without Joe Anyon for the last three games of a dismal season after the goalkeeper injured his knee in training.
Anyon's misfortune means that 17-year-old shot-stopper Chris Martin is expected to make his first-team debut this weekend.
Vale boss Lee Sinnott admitted: "It's just one of those things in football. Joe went to block a ball and got caught on the end of his foot.
"It's opened up his knee ligaments a little bit, so he'll be out for three to four weeks.
"I obviously had it in my mind that I wanted to see what Chris Martin could do, but I also had it in my mind that Joe had been ever-present up until now."
