Hulbert pens Vale contract

Injury-jinxed midfielder Robin Hulbert has signed a new one-year contract with Port Vale.

The 27-year-old suffered foot problems for much of last term, but regained full fitness to become a key figure once again for the Valiants.

Assistant manager Dean Glover told the club's official website: "It's one we wanted to get sorted as soon as possible, because we feel Robin has got a lot to offer the team still.

"He finished the back end of the season on a good run, performing well and it is gives Robin peace of mind now that he has got over his injury.

"He has gone through a lot over the last 12 months with his injuries and it was nice for him to play in the last 14 or 15 games and prove he is a valuable asset to the team."
