Grew still has play-offs in sight
Port Vale caretaker manager Mark Grew still believes his side can reach the play-offs despite a 1-1 draw with Southend.Robert Taylor fired in the opener for Vale before Luke Prosser came back to haunt his former team and level from close range to earn the Shrimpers a point.Grew said: "It's not the end of our season at all. As long as we have a mathematical chance of making the play-offs we will keep going."What this result does is make our task a lot harder and it's difficult to take after giving a stupid goal away right at the end. Other results have also gone against us, which is another kick in the teeth."Lee Collins is distraught in the dressing room, but it wasn't all about him making a mistake because we didn't play well. I had a go at the players at half-time because our tempo was too slow and we continued to look like a load of individuals instead of a team."The players worked hard enough and put a shift in, but the performance was poor and we've all got to look at it and do better. Luke Prosser scoring is one of those things which happens in football. Players often come back to hurt their former clubs and he's done that to us."
