Grew: Display was `absolute total disgrace`

Port Vale caretaker manager Mark Grew pulled no punches after Port Vale went down to a 1-0 final day defeat at Barnet which secured the hosts` League Two status.Izale McLeod smashed home a 48th-minute penalty after he was brought down by Gareth Owen, inflicting defeat on a promotion-chasing Vale side who finished the campaign in a disappointing 11th place."I've told the players that performance was unacceptable to Port Vale Football Club - it was an absolute total disgrace," said Grew. "There are some lucky lads who have got two-year contracts because there is no way they would get another contract if they play like that."It lacked passion. I just feel some players have been on holiday for the last two or three weeks. How they can look at themselves sometimes in the mirror is unbelievable. As a player I gave everything I could do win a football match, but some of them just sit back and accept it."It should have been like a graveyard when we left here. But good luck to Barnet, they worked a lot harder than us and deserved the result."The lads went and clapped our fans but they should be thanking them when they play by putting in a performance. It was a Rocky Horror Show."
